apparently the people at SNK also such at netcode. Garou sucks playing anyone above 120 ping and through the grapevine i hear that King Of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match (KOF98UM) is no different. Same shitty ass netcode! I’m hoping this necode isn’t whats going to be on the soon-to-be-released King Of Fighters XIII, I will fucking rage! (and politely ask for a refund).

On a much happier note though, BlazBlue has been getting a lot of high praises from the community. there are THREE (NOW FOUR!) things in blazBlue that no other fighting game released THIS YEAR has and they have executed it perfectly, almost like they were on the sidelines for the release of SF4 watching and listening to what SF4 missed and then added it to BlazBlue. We are at ASP spent a few hours re-hashing our SNK skills on this (re)release of an arcade classic and also reminding me of how much better SNK are at designing female characters (I’m looking at you Chun-Legs).

Skipping all the usual new release article fodder let’s head straight to the Grimey. This game has some serious INPUT LAG while playing online, compare it to playing someone with 1-2red bars in SF4, even though the game clearly says 50ms ping time. Huh!

Still fun and a great game to add to the collection!

For those of us LUCKY enough to have the arcade ROM remember that GGPO supports Garou and offers a much better online play.

Vincent Van Gough once said “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together”.   He no doubt was saying that it takes many little efforts to accomplish something great.  Something akin to “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.  We like to think he was talking about compilation videos of small children crashing hard on tricycles.  The thing you really want to look out for here is HOLY SHIT THAT KID JUST SLAMMED HIS FACE!!!
